Saakat (ਸਾਕਤ )
Meaning:
A Saakat is one who lives only for swaarth (self-interest) and not for Sach (Truth / Spiritual Wisdom).

ਰੋਵਹੁ ਸਾਕਤ ਬਾਪੁਰੇ ਜੁ ਹਾਟੈ ਹਾਟ ਬਿਕਾਇ ॥੧੬॥
“Weep, O Saakat poor, who sells himself in the marketplace.”
Gurmat condemns those who use religion as a means of worldly gain.
ਸਾਕਤੁ ਐਸਾ ਹੈ ਜੈਸੀ ਲਸਨ ਕੀ ਖਾਨਿ ॥
ਕੋਨੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਖਾਈਐ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥੧੭॥
“Saakat is like a garlic pod; even when eaten in a corner, its smell gives him away.”
His mindset and ideology reveal his attachment to maya; saints immediately recognize him.
==Characteristics==:
Seeks worldly fulfillment wherever convenient: temples, dargahs, gurus, or holy men, but never turns to the true giver of wisdom (Satguru / Gurmukh).
Their Dharam + Arth is purely for self-interest.
==Gurmat Teaching==:
Such a life is hollow, bound to maya, and far from spiritual liberation.
Gurbani contrasts the Saakat (selfish) with the Gurmukh (Truth-oriented, wisdom-seeker). Sant and Gurmukh is one and same thing
