Martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur

तिलक जंञू राखा प्रभ ता का ॥ कीनो बडो कलू महि साका ॥ साधन हेति, इती जिनि करी ॥ सीसु दीया, परु सी न उचरी ॥१३॥ धरम हेत साका जिनि कीआ ॥ सीसु दीआ; परु सिररु न दीआ ॥ नाटक चेटक कीए कुकाजा ॥ प्रभ लोगन कह आवत लाजा ॥१४॥

दोहरा ॥ ठीकर फोरि दिलीस सिरि; प्रभ पुरि कीया पयान ॥ तेग बहादुर सी क्रिआ; करी न किनहूं आनि ॥१५॥ तेग बहादुर के चलत; भयो जगत को सोक ॥ है है है सभ जग भयो; जै जै जै सुर लोकि ॥१६॥

The Almighty preserved their tilak and sacred thread Via Martyrdom of Guru Teg Bahadur. In this Age, He accomplished a supreme act of martyrdom. He gave his head, yet not even a sigh of pain escaped. He who upheld Dharma through this sacrifice. Gave the head but never compromised his principles (his inner Self remained unshaken).

Shattering the pot of the body upon the head of Delhi, He ascended to the Abode of Parmeshar.No other has ever performed such a deed as Tegh Bahadur did. When Tegh Bahadur departed, the world fell into sorrow. ‘Alas! Alas!’ cried the people of the world; ‘Victory! Victory!’ resounded in the Realms of the Enlightened Ones.”
