Sikhi360 is a research-based encyclopedia dedicated to Sikh philosophy, history, and way of life. Our aim is to provide clear, accessible articles that remain close to Gurmat ideology — the wisdom revealed by the Gurus and preserved in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. Guiding Principles • Centering Gurmat: Teachings are referenced primarily from Guru Granth Sahib Ji and authentic Sikh historical sources. • Accuracy: Articles are based on verifiable sources. When views differ, they are presented transparently. • Clarity: Content is written so it can be understood by students, seekers, and researchers alike. • Respect: Gurbani is presented with correct Gurmukhi script, transliteration, and translations. Why “360”? The name reflects a complete view (360°) of Sikhi — covering scripture, philosophy, history, and practice — so that readers can explore Sikhi from multiple perspectives, with Gurmat at the center. Sources We Use • Primary: Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Sri Dasam Granth (where relevant), Bhai Gurdas Ji’s Vaars, Rehatnamas. • Secondary: Respected Sikh historians (e.g., Kavi Santokh Singh, Rattan Singh Bhangu), academic works, and verified research. • Clarifications: Oral traditions are acknowledged but always identified as such. Starting Point Sikhi is rooted in the timeless truth revealed by Guru Nanak Sahib: “ਸਚੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ॥” (Ang 1) The Eternal Naam is the Creator Being, Fearless, and Without Hatred. This is the foundation on which Sikhi360 articles will be built — with truth (ਸਚ), clarity, and Gurmat-centered understanding.
